The International Biotechnology Centre “Biostem” is an important subdivision of V.K. Gusak Institute of Emergency and Restorative Surgery of the Academy of Medical sciences of Ukraine. The centre includes a Laboratory of cell and tissue cultivation, a Laboratory of stem cell transplantation, a Laboratory of fundamental research, Clinical subdivisions according to main diseases.
Human Stem Cell Institute (Russia-Germany)
Open joint-stock company “Human Stem Cells Institute” (HSCI) was established in 2003 with an aim to realize projects in the area of cell technologies. Now, HSCI has modern processing laboratories and depositories of cell material, research laboratories: a Laboratory of Cell Technologies in Moscow and a biotechnological laboratory of the company Simbiotec in Saarbruken (Germany). It also includes a scientific journal “Cell Transplantology and Tissue Engineering”.

Highly professional experienced and committed staff and the most modern equipment of the Centre give a possibility to perform high-precision diagnostic and surgical correction of all congenital heart diseases.

A.P. Romodanov Institute of neurosurgery of the AMS of Ukraine was established in 1950. The main attention of the specialists of the institute is concentrated on problems of diagnostic, surgical and combined treatment of spinal and brain tumors, pathogenesis, diagnostics and treatment of CNS traumas and their consequences, surgical treatment of complex forms of brain vascular pathology, studies of immunological reactions in patients with neurosurgical pathology of CNS.

The biotechnological company SymbioTec GmbH was established in 1999 in Starterzentrum and is specialized in creation and development of innovative products for treating and diagnostics of dangerous for life diseases, such as cancer. The range of products includes optimized derivations of natural proteins and peptides, especially derivatives of histone.
The bank of umbilical cord blood “Hemabank” (Russia)
Hemabank was established in November 2003. It utilizes a many year experience of work of the bone marrow bank of N.N. Blohin Russian Oncologic Research Centre of the RAMS and an experience accumulated by a number of umbilical blood banks in the USA and many European countries.

One of the leading banks of the European Union which provides service of stem cells cryo-storage in Poland, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Rumania. This bank is the second in Europe which has an accreditation AABB. It has performed three successful applications of the stored samples.

Kievmaternity hospital№5 (Ukraine)
The capital maternity hospital №5 is the first maternity hospital, which took part in the project of application of umbilical blood at operative intervention on heart in the newborns with diagnosed congenital heart diseases in 2009.
The maternity hospital established in 1994 on the basis of the clinical hospital №8 was the first maternity hospital which had implemented the obstetrics method of the cesarean section.
Kievcity maternity hospital №7
The capital maternity hospital №7 is a participant of the project on application of umbilical blood at operative intervention in the newborns with diagnosed congenital heart diseases since 2010.
The maternity hospital is specialized in obstetrics of premature deliveries (in terms after 22 weeks of gestation) and provides medical help for the newborns with critically low weight at birth (from 500 grams).
